These funds are used exclusively , for thfe befiefit oi returned servicemen and women and their dependants, and white up , to 20 per cent. of the net procfefeds from Poppy Day in any one year may be used for administration purposes, the Levin R.S.A. has always endeavoured to mak-e the total proCeeds available for distribUtion for welfare purposes, and frfee of administration costs. Before any grant is approved a most careful investigation is m'ade into all the cirCUmstahCes Oi each c%se*. While in the first year there seems to have been adequa'te efnployment and no need for assistance, there are always cases of genuine hardship adn necessity occurring, for which the ordihdry channels of relief are not available, and the public can rely on these cases receiving sympathetic and generous assistance from Poppy Day funds.
