DUNEDIN, April lo. - The 12-round- professional middleweiglit boxiug contest betAveen Laurie Bolger (Mataura) 10.12, and Jack McCann (Wellington) 11.0, in the Town Hall tonight, ended sensationally in the last round, iu a win for McCanu by a teclinical knockout. Bolger established a commanding lead in poiiits over the lirst eight rounds of punishing lighting and displayed far more variety in his work than his oppouent, althougli JMcCann abvavs looked (langerous when he brought his right into play. 'McCanu took a long time to get his distance with his left hand but from the ninth round onwards he went after his man strongiy, realising uis onlv hope was by a knockout. Bolger tired towards the iinish and a perfcctly timed right cross to tlie jaw dropped him for iiine in the cleveuth' rouud.
