The expioaiou was feit over a radius pf fij'teen miles, and is helieved to have Peen caused ny a heath fire. The dunip was on a lonely moorrland near the lake oi ivionue&h (P'erthshire) , the whole area being a vast ammunition dump. One secrec weapon is believed tp have been s,tored in glass tubes jn six shelters wnich were distinte--grated. Tne expiosion. set up tremors which killed a farmor miles away, and blew in windows and shopk hpuses over a wide area. Jt also caused heath fires, whicjh could be seen from ten counties. TJne farjner was killed when the tremors caused ;the' branch of a t'ree'to tall on Jiirrji. The farmer's son, whp was also under the iree, was injiired. No official statement has been issuejd ;on the casualties near the dunip, but the pojiice are now carrying out an extensiye seafch.
