MILAN LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS

After a fortnight's high-pitched and - expensive. political campaigning, Milan voted for thejr first democratic local government for twenty-five years, says Reuter's Mfian correspondent. The candidates were mainly Christian Democrats, Sociafists, Communists .and the "Ljttle Madonna" bloc, including Liberals, Monarchists, and Extreme Rightists. The elections are expected to show the trend of the Italian general elections in June.
