REPRESENTATIVE SOFTBALL
WANGANUI VISIT LEVIN The representative softball match played at the Weraroa Domain on Saturday proved very interesting, both for players and spectators. Thcrc were some exciting moments when both teams broughtT theii trick play into force. Wanganui had the advantage up to the fourth innings, when Horowhenua "A's' took the lead and forged ahead tc take the honours by 25 — 13. The game between Wanganui and Horowhenua "B's" had the spectators on their toes, with both teams level at the end of four innings. Both teams were trying hardTo take the lead when Horowhenua seemed to lose their dash, and Wanganui came through the winners by 16—11. The Wanganui team was then entertained at afternoon tea which had been provided by the lady players. The manager of the Wanganui team (Mr. Sisson) thanked the association for the hospitality extended to them, and said that they had enjoyed their visit. The captain of the team also .spoke on these lines, and thanked the players for the games which they had enjoyed. The president of the association (Mr. A. Pike), then thanked both speakers for their kind remarks, and said that he hoped that this visit would become an annual affair, and that arrangements could be made to visit Wanganui. The final game of the second round was played at Otaki on Sunday between Otaki Aces and Rahui Men. Rahui, who did not play up to their usual standard, were easily defcated by Otaki, the score being 33 — 15. Thus, the Otaki Aces hold the shield for the second year in succession.
