RIFLE SHOOTING

Shooting at a range of 100 yards on Saturday members of the Poroutawhao Rifle Club found scoring difficult owing to a strong crosswind, varying to five degrees. C. Arcus returned the best card off the rifle with 123.2, while Miss M. Kilsby won the weekly competition with 139.1, next highest being Ross Arcus, Mrs. A. L. Lumsden, sand A. L. Lumsden all with 138.8. In the shoot-off with Mrs. K. Green, Ross Arcus proved the winner. With two shoots to go the aggregate is being keenly contested. The highest scores are:— A. L. Lumsden 1105.8, Mrs. K. Green 1104.7, Mrs. A. L. Lumsden 1100.5, Miss M. Kilsby 1100.2, J. Thornton 1097.6, L. K. Lumsden 1088.9 and W. J. Tait 1087.2.
