ECUADOR PRESIDENT EXILES OPPONENTS
Received Monday, 8.15 p.m. ECUADOR, April 1. President Jose Celasco Iharra has exiled a group of men, headed by General Atberto Enriquez, the provisional President in 1937-38 for "preparing to carry out the most criminally unpopular and seditious assault in the nation 's history." The President said the exiles, during the previous adnrnistration, handed the republic over to a totalitarian head. Those arrested include the formex Liberal Party leader Julio Teodoro and eight army oflicers. Ecuador will elect new Deputies at the end of April.
