TO-NIGHT— "LADY IN THE DARK" Whatever you've heard abput it, it is no exaggeration. "Lady in the Dark" is definitely one of the finest pieces of motion picture entertainment ever produced. It has everyching imagmable to give liim fans the time of their lives — top stars, a "different" story, breathtakingly beautiful technicolour, gay and haunting music, stunning fashions and high comedy. That just ab'out takes in everything in the way^of entertainment elements, but that's exactly what audiences at the Civic Theatre will discover to-night. Costarring Ginger Rogers, Ray Mil, land, Warner Baxter and Jon Hall, "Lady in the Dark" is the picture version of the celebrated Moss Hart play that ran for three years on Broadway and played in couritless cities around the country. The play, with Gertrude Lawrence inthe title role, was a sensation. The, picture goes even further than the play because, naturally, the screen offers 'Adder scope for imaginative .technical tricks than the stage, and Leisen has taken advantage of that fact!
