We look back with pride to the contribution made.' by the society during the war years, for during that time no less than 24 of our members answered ihe cad and proceeded overseas. We^look back, too, with a feeling of sadness as we remember the two members who paid the supreme . sacrifiee — Keith Jack and Alan Blaek. "I would like to take this opportunity of placing on record the : great work done during the past| few years, on behalf of the society, i by all those who have helped so 1 much in raising funds. First of all I would lfke to thank. the band forJ carrying on in the face of great] difficulties. It would be invidious to j mention names, but I am sure all ] will join with me in extending a 1 special word of* congratulation to 1 Pipe-Major Yorston, whose capable leadership and tuition has done probably more than anything else to bring the 'band to the position it occupiels to-day. "Then I would specially mention the committee and those great workers, men and women, who ran the dances. From this you will realise, I am sure, that any success we have gained has been due to the cooperation of -every member of the society. I would also like to acknowledge the good work done on behalf of the society by its secretary (Mr. J. A. Goodwin) and its .minute secretary (Miss N. Fletcher) , and also to the social committee, especially the ladies." The Band's Activities The band's annual report was then read by the band secretary (Mr. E. R. Mclntyre).
