ICE CREAM IN THEATRES

"A MERE WOMAN "

Sir, — ^Under the above heading in yesterday's "Chronicle" I noted that the Levin Borough Council had insfructed its delegates to the forthcoming municipal conference to oppose the by-law which will prohioit the consumption of iqe crpam in theatres. That a progressive council such as we have in Levin should decide to take this course is not understandable. From a health point of view the "lapping" of . ice cream in crowded theatres should be prohibited, not to say anything about going to the pictures and sitti'ng down in good clothes on the remainder or drippings of an ice cream partaken of at an earlier sessipn. — Yours, etc., ,

Levin, March 20.
