OTAKI AND DISTRICT HORSE CLUB

SPECIAL MEETING A special meeting of the Otaki and District Horse Club was held on Thursday. The president was in the chair and there was a fair attendance of members present. The president explained that the meeting had been called to arrange the sports day being held on Saturaav, March 23, at the Otaki racecourse. The secretary reported that the Boy Scouts had agreed to take charge of the refreshment booth, the Otaki Band would play during the day and Mr. Arthur Knox would 'take charge of the children's foot races. A judicial committee consisting of Messrs. T. Mansell, W. F. Bills and W. Bradbury, was appointed for the sports day. The committee decided that the champion hack on the ground would receive a ribbon and ticket, as well as the prize money. Members were requested to give their entries to the secretary as early as possible to avoid a rush of work on the day. Members then gave the secretary the names of those to whom programmes and complimentary tickets were to be sent. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chairman.
