MARKET REPORT
Messrs. Townsend and Paul, Ltd., fruit and produce merchants, Wellington, report that there is still a decided shortage of all stonefruits offering, and consequently values for choice lines have been readily maintained. Good quality peaches have been sought, while grapes, cape gooseberries, tomatoes (wanted) , quinces and black currants have all commanded good attention. Flower saies have been largely attended, seasonal biooms being placed readily. Most varieties of vegetables have also been sought, cabbages, good carrots and cauliflowers being in particular enquiry. With smaller supplies of poultry offering, values have also been maintained .-and all prime birds have been placed to advantage".
