LABOUR PARTY MEETING
The Shannon branch of the New Zealand Labour Party heid its annual meeting on Wednesday evening, over which Mr. R. E. Downes presided. The Daiancesheet showed that the branch is in a very sound position financially. The following were the elected officers for the forthcdming year: — Fresident: Mr. R. E. Downes; vicejpresident: Mr G. McEwan; secre- | tary and treasurer: Mrs. M. Pedersen; comihittee : Mr. R. E. Downes, Mr. McEwan, Mrs. Pedersen, Mr. D. McLagan, Mr. R. Johnson, Mr. W. Free, Mr. M. Campbell and Mr. J. Sinclair; delegates to Otaki L.R.C : Messrs. R. E. Downes, G. McEwan, R. S. Downes and Mrs. Pedersen.
