SHANNON CLUB'S MEETING The annual general meeting of the Shannon Football Club was held on Tuesday evening, Mr. A. Gillespie presiding. Mr. Gillespie welcomed those present, and thanked them for attending in such large numbers. He said he was pleased to sae such an interest taken in the club this year, and the attendance was the largest on record.The secretary (Mr. V. Bateman) read the minutes of the 1945 meeting, when the balanee-sheet showed a credit balance. Comment was made on the favourable finaiicial position of the club. It was decided to nominate three teams for the competitions, namely, "a Senior, junior and 3rd grade team. It was agreed that the delegates to the Horowhenua Rugby Union should ask that the Maori-Pakeha match be played at Shannon early in the season. Officers The foilowing officers were elected • for the year:— Patron: Mr. T. Moynihan; president: Mr. A. Gillespie; vice-presidents: Messrs: R. Vinsen, R. Sands and J. Lucinsky; ' club captain: Mr. A. Jefferies;' secretary: Mr. V. Bateman; treasurer: Mr. W. Moynihan; auditor: Mr. F. Thurston; committee: Messrs. L-. Coulter. B. Coulter, A. Woods, D. Aitchison, C. Mortimer, R. Campbell^ and R. Lind; delegates to Horowhenua Union: Messrs. V. Bateman, D. Cole (Snr.) , J. Lucinsky and A. Jefferies; additional delegates: Messrs. A. Gillespie and R. Sands; coaches: Messrs. A. Woods (Snr.) , G. Woods ( Jnr.) , R. Miller and B. Colter (3rd grade) . It was agreed that Mr. R. Sands be renominated as senior selector for the Horowhenua Union. A vote of thanks was extended to Mr. Bateman for the able manner in which he had carried out his duties as secretary. Membership fees were fixed at 5/for senior players and 2/6 for junior and third grade players, with noniplaying members 5/-«
