BOUQUET FOR "CHRONICLE"

At the Shannon Borough Council meeting on Tuesday evening, Cr. H. Aitchison congratulated "The Chronicle" for its enterprise in making a news service available to the people of Shannon. Mr. Aitchison said that the Horowhenua district was going ahead, and that Shannon must make progress also. He asked Mr. Tom Downes, on behalf of the paper, to accept his best wishes for success in "The Chronicle's" new venture. Cr. Aitchison's remarks were endorsed by all the members of the Council. "The Chronicle" wishes to thank Cr. Aitchison, the Councillors and the people of Shannon as a whoP for the very favourable manner in which this paper is being receivec in the Shannon district.
