Timber For Australia

During the last four weeks, 800,000 feet of West Coast timber have been dispatched to Sydney and Melbourne, 200,000 feet of it from Bluff and 600,000 feet from Lyttelton, says a Greymouth message. Pretty Maggi Anderson, aged 28 was sentenced to death at Oslo for espionage and for informing during the occupation. She is the first woman sentenced to death in Norway's history, but the Judge and jury unanimously recommended mercy. Anderson was at first an underground worker, but was caught by the Germans and released on consenting to turn informer.
