Fire victims named
PA Auckland The police have identified two women who perished in the St Clair rest home fire in Auckland on Wednesday. They were Ping Chung, aged 75; and Olive McGrath, aged 85. The dead women were not immediately identified because a post-mortem examination was delayed by industrial action by mortuary attendants. The fire swept through the rest home in St George’s Bay Road, Parnell, early on Wednesday. The bodies of Mesdames Chung and McGrath were discovered in a front bedroom.
