Triathlon attracts big entry
The Summer Times programme mini-triathlon attracted 315 competitors yesterday and was a tremendous success, the organisers said. The winner of the women’s section was Tracey Watson, who completed the course in Ihr 9min. Anne-Marie Austin was second and Josephine Wilson third. The men’s section was won by by Bruce Meder in a time of Ihr 4min. Murray Gray was second and Paul Gibson third. Competitors swam 500 metres in Lyttelton Harbour, cycled 20km on the Port Hills, and ran 6km round Hagley Park.
