Netball tourists win again

NZPA staff correspondent Washington

The New Zealand Young Internationals netball team notched up the second win of its Canadian tour beating Quebec Seniors, 46-4, in Montreal yesterday evening. Like Wednesday’s 53-12 win against Quebec Juniors, only two 20-min-ute halves were played and substitutions were made by each side to give

practice to as many players as possible.

The half-time score was 19-1.

“The score was not a true indication of the game as Quebec Seniors were better than the score might indicate,” said New Zealand coach, Yvonne Willering.

“You have to remember that we are a representative side while they were just a local state side so it is hard to

judge the two against each other.” Ms Willering said the New Zealand players went much better than the previous day, not making as many mistakes and playing with more “zest.” The Young Internationals side will play a Quebec combined team today and tomorrow has its toughest game on tour against a Canadian Open Squad at Toronto.
