Honour to North Canterbury
The North Canterbury cricket side’s win over the West Coast at Rangiora last week-end gives it the honour of the first challenge against Nelson for the Übix Trophy. It will be the first challenge for the Übix Trophy, which has replaced the Hawke Cup as New Zealand’s premier minor associations cricket trophy. North Canterbury is ex-
pected to again have the services of Steve McNally for the match, to be played at Nelson from February 16 to February 18. John Masefield and Michael Satterthwaite with the bat, and Gary Saunders and Chris Abbott bowling, made major contributions to North Canterbury’s zone competition win over Marlborough, Buller, and West Coast.
