Large fleet contests Pennant series
A large fleet of 169 yachts from 19 classes contested the third race of the Epiglass Estuary Pennant yacht series, on the Estuary yesterday. Leslie and Jenny Egnot competing in the 470 class, pulled off a good win in beating Mark Milbum and Simon Mander, who were runners-up in the 470 class national championships, in a closely contested race. . In the Zephyr class, Christchurch Yacht Club members made a clean sweep with John Morrison, sailing Victoria, winning a close battle from Don Le Page, in Nutcracker, and Paul Stemmer in Gamble.
