Dixon’s last marathon
PA Auckland Rod Dixon, a veteran of three Olympics, will not try to qualify for any event at the Edinburgh Commonwealth Games. Dixon said yesterday that he was closely involved with the organisation of a Los Angeles marathon in which he will
compete on March 9. “It will almost certainly be my last attempt at the distance, but- not an attempt on the Games qualifying time,” he said. “I am not retiring from track and field, but my future is not athletically based any more. There will be no more highpowered racing.”
