Cromwell provides workers

PA Dunedin Queenstown hoteliers have started a bus service to Cromwell, 64km away, to tap women there.for a domestic work-force. The hotels underwrite the 40-seater bus, which leaves Cromwell daily at 7.30 a.m. and returns at 4 p.m., with workers paying only $2.50 return fare. One of the organisers of the service said about 20 women were using it, and eight of those would otherwise have been drawing unemployment benefits.
