League team named

NZPA Brisbane Selectors have named nine Queenslanders in the Australian Rugby League team for the second Test against New Zealand at Lang Park on Saturday. The team is: Colin Scott, Kerry Boustead, Mai Meninga, Gene Miles, Eric Grothe, Wally Lewis (vice-captain), Peter Sterling, Ray Price, Wally Fullerton-Smith, Paul Vautin, Dave Brown, Max Krilich (captain) and Brad Tessman. Three of the Queensland

players are Sydney based — Kerry Boustead, Paul Vautin and Dave Brown. The large Queensland contingent follows the Maroons’ runaway win over New South Wales on Tuesday evening last week to take out the State-of-Origin series. The reserves are Steve Ella and Ray Brown. Scott and Tessman have been selected for Australia for the first time while Miles, a Kangaroo tourist, will make his Test debut on Saturday.
