Computer holiday camps
Computer holiday camps for school children are being organised in Christchurch and Auckland. Adventure Holidays, Ltd, has organised the camps in' response to the increasing role of the computer in industry and business. They are designed to make children aware of the power and versatility of computers and their effect on society. “We achieve those objectives by teaching programme techniques, robotics, process control, voice synthesis and computer building with recreational activities, vocational guidance, and addresses by visiting lecturers, said Mr Peter Carr, a director of Adventure Holidays. Mr Carr has previously organised holiday camps and because of the response set up his company to cater for the demand. The camps will last for six days and the progress of each child will be monitored. At the end of the course each child will receive a certificate.
