Dr Korb’s visit
Sir, — Taken in conjunction with the article in your issue of February 23, “New race for ‘equivalent survivability’,” from “The Economist,” the visit of Dr Lawrence Korb presages the most darkly sinister implications for . the future of New Zealand. The first paragraph of “The Economist” article states very clearly the two articles of the Reagan Administration’s military faith that, “limited nuclear war” is possible, and, “may not only be survived, but also, perhaps, won.” These views are the delusions of madness; but it is obvious that this suicidal folly fires the Reagan Administration’s obsession to wage uclear war against the Soviet Union. New Zealanders must make their cringingly complaisant Government aware in no uncertain terms, that they forthrightly reject the Pentagon’s adventuristic warmongering. Dr Korb’s reference to a “Soviet threat” puts the boot on the wrong foot. The world faces its greatest threat from the United States. — Yours, etc., M. CREEL. February 27, 1982.
