Chch man wins bowls
PA Dunedin Travis Coup (Christchurch) and his lead Maurice Pettit (Dunedin) won the Speights Charity Classic Pairs bowls competition in Dunedin yesterday. Coup and Pettit comfortably beat the former New Zealand representative Bill Cousins (Dunedin) and his lead Keith
Ellwood (Dunedin) 21-11 in the final to take the title. It was the fourth big tournament Coup has won this year. Coup and Pettit outdrew their opponents and got the front bowls which allowed them to dominate the game. Cousins had been the master tactician in his earlier games, but he was forced to concede the initiative to Coup in the final.
