Walker predicts record
NZPA Adelaide New Zealand's John Walker, who recently returned to Auckland after a triumphant campaign on the American indoor circuit, will run in the Mars Super Mile at Olympic Sports Field in Adelaide on March 13. Walker, the outstanding mile runner of all time with an
unrivalled 62- sub-four minute performance to his credit, predicts that he will break the Australian record of 3min 55 seconds in Adelaide. The 1976 Olympic 1500 metre gold medallist* has returned to the top with two stunning victories over the American champion Steve Scott in the New York and San Diego indoor miles.
