Three hurt in shooting
PA Wellington Three persons are in hospital after a shooting in the Wellington suburb of Island Bay last evening. One, a boy aged six, is in a critical condition with what is believed to be an eye wound. The other two, a man and a woman, are not considered to be seriously injured. The boy is the woman’s son. The names of the injured were not immediately available. They had been shot with a handgun in an incident which started just after 7.30 p.m. Inspector T. Jones, wha was first on the scene, said a man was leaving the house when he arrived. The man accompanied thd police to the Wellington Central Police Station and made a statement.
