Schools’ concert next week

The massed orchestras and choirs of Burnside High School and Naenae College (Lower Hutt) will fill the auditorium of the Christchurch Town Hall on April 30 for their annual concert. The concert will be a cul-

mination of a term’s concentrated effort. The 140 Naenae College pupils involved will arrive in Christchurch on Thursday and will probably rehearse in the Town Hall on Friday. Yesterday, about 400 persons attended the annual church service of the North Canterbury centre of the Red Cross Society in Christchurch Cathedral. The annual house-to-house Red Cross appeal will be on Saturday. The target this year is $66,000. Last year’s appeal realised $56,500.

Anyone willing to assist with the collection is asked to telephone 798-158.
