Unbeaten in four U.S. starts
Special correspondent Acukland. If the performances of Blaspheme are any indication, the activities of Ameriican buyers seeking New (Zealand trotting stock are very likely to extend beyond I horses which have won 'races. Blaspheme was an unquafied maiden when he was sold by the Pukekohe trainer and ’studmaster, J. K. Hughes, to Mr James Dunnigan. In four starts for Mr Dunnigan. Blaspheme has recorded mile times of 2min ss, 2min 3s, 2min 2s, and 2min Is and he remains unbeaten. He is trained and driven by Mr Dunnigan’s son, Eddie, and scored easily in his latest win — at Liberty Bell, Philadelphia, last week. Bred by Htighes, Blaspheme* is a three-year-old gelding by Tudor Hanover from Tar Lass. Moana Lass, a half-sister by Hopalong Cassidy to Blaspheme, is also doing well in the United States. Her five races so far have produced two wins, two seconds and a third. Hughes gave her to the Dunnigans to race.. He will have her first foal after she is retired to the stud. The foal will be sent to New Zealand.
