Paparoa national park
Sir, —- We, like most people, have been concerned about conservation issues, particularly the depletion of the New Zealand bush. At Easter week-end we attended the Native Forest Action Council’s annual meeting in Nelson and were most impressed by z the thoroughness and sincerity of this organisation. We are convinced that the proposal for a national park in the Paparoa region of Westland is well researched. It has looked further than preserving the native forests in that it has also taken into account the social and economic position of the people of the West Coast. We should like to thank this organisation for their help in preserving the values and heritage -of New Zealanders. —Yours, etc., Y. CURTIS, B. CROMIE, " April 17, 1979.
