NZPA Sydney A syndicate of leading New Zealand studmasters has bought the Australian galloper, Marceau, which will stand at the Cambridge stud. Cambridge’s owner, Patrick Hogan, who head the

I “I think it is accepted in ,iNew Zealand that we need ■an infusion of tap-speed ' .(bloodlines into the country,” , ;he said. ‘‘There is no better : blood than Star Kingdom, Marceau’s grandsire.” Mr Hogan is a part-owner of the champion Sovereign Edition mare, Surround, which is at stud at Cambridge and likely to be mated with Marceau, a weight-for-age winner, in his first season there. Marceau’s dam, Humour, is also the dam of a Perth Cup winner, Runyon, and a I classic-winning filly, Zasu.
