Auck. too powerful

NZPA Canberra Auckland’s captain, Brad Johnstone, led his powerful forward pack to victory against the Australian Capital Territory at Rugby Park, Ainslie, in Canberra yesterday. Auckland led 3-0 and then trailed 3-7 before swamping A.C.T. in the final stages to win 19-7. The Auckland pack played power football with Johnstone always in the heaviest work. Auckland’s coach, Brian Craies, was full of praise for his team’s effort after its 1412 defeat by Sydney last Saturday. “The forwards showed much more determination and our backs went much better with the clean bail they received,” said Mr Craies.
