Sir, — “Mr Chapman’s ‘self-reliance’,” is a splendid editorial. “The trouble is,” as Lord Hailsham said, “that people with clear minds give the impression of being intemperate because they say clear things. People with woolly minds can’t take things that are said clearly.” If local body and Parliamentary politicians were less woolly, we electors would find our choices less adventitious, and more predictable. — Yours, etc., JOHN MORTON.
