Shuter out of team

The New Zealand speedway champion, F. Shuter, has withdrawn from the Canterbury team to meet Auckland in the return match at Western Springs on Saturday night. Shuter, who was captain of the side which overwhelmed the northern team when it visited Templeton recently, is still awaiting the arrival of a new machine from England and is not prepared to use a borrowed racer. This certainly weakens the Canterbury team but it has a very capable replacement in the former South Island champion, T. Black. The captain of the team has not yet been z decided but it is almost certain to be the international rider, A. Brown, who now appears to have overcome the leg injury which retarded his progress earlier this season.
