The New Zealand women’s cricket team scored a resounding win over South Australia yesterday. At stumps on Tuesday in the two-day match, New Zealand was 189 for eight declared and had taken five South Australian wickets for 38.
Yesterday morning, P. Carrick got swing from the atmosphere and her mediumpaced deliveries took three for 11, and South Australia was all out for 66. Forced to follow on, two local side was dismissed for 84 in its second innings, giving New Zealand victory by an innings and 39 runs.
Scores: New Zealand 189/8 dec., South Australia 66 (P. Carrick 3/11, J. Lord 3/23. E. Allan 2/17) and 84 (Lord 4/24, J. Saulbrey 3/26, Allan 1/9, G. Page 1/15, J. Doull 1/12). New Zealand will play two more matches in South Australia before going to Melbourne for a four-day test against Australia, beginning on February 5.
