CAR FOUND STRIPPED

A Wolseley car stolen from outside a property in Mays Road, St Albans, on Tuesday night was recovered by Christchurch detectives yesterday with its back wheels and a number of other parts missing. The car, found near the Waimakariri riverbed, was without its grille, radiator, bonnet lid and front headlights. Also missing were the carburettors, the battery and the distributor. Half of the windscreen and the dashboard was broken. There were also signs that an attempt had been made to remove the engine.
