S.I. Judo Titles
(N.Z. Press Association' INVERCARGILL. A high standard, with some well-fought belts, made the South Island judo championships at th* Y.M.C.A. stadium in Invercargill on Saturday one of the most successful held. There were 100 entries. Results:— Heavy-weight.—W. Hiktt (Canterbury) lost to D. Whitley (Gore). Middle-weight,—R. Hanham (Christchurch) beat A. Mitchell (Christchurch). Light-weight. —W. Buchan (Dunedin) beat J. Chursinov (Dunedin). Juniors, over Bst.—G. Davidson (Gore) beat S. Gillar (Invercargill). Under Sst: E. Kellens (Christchurch) beat A. Peters (Christchurch). Open Weight.—D. Macdonald (Invercargill) lost to R. Hanan (Christchurch). Open Teams’ Championship.— Christchurch International beat Invercargill Y.M.C.A., 4-0
