Total Exceeds £lB,OOO The John Harrison Memorial Fund had reached £18,369 by the end of the week. Gifts received from outside Christchurch were:— Wellington, £455; Ellesmere, £34; Timaru, £779 19s 4d; Ashburton, £290 18s; Waimate, £32 17s. Other contributions received in the last few days include: —£143 from the West Coast Alpine Club, £5B 16s 9d from the Canterbury University Students’ Association, £53 5s 6d from the Windwhistle Winter Sports Club, £5O from Mr and Mrs N. Hamilton, £5O from Graham Steward and Company, Ltd., £25 from Dame Flora MacLeod, Isle of Skye, and £22 17s from the staff, pupils and mothers of pupils of Wellington Girls’ College.
