Malawi Gets Blood Unit
CV.Z.P.A.-Reuter) BLANTYRE (Malawi) A mobile blood donor unit valued at £2OOO has been presented to the Malawi Ministry of Health by the Rotary Club of Blantyre-Limbe. There is a chronic shortage of blood at the Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre for emergencies and operations, and this unit will help in reaching a wider section of the public. The unit consists of a Landrover station waggon end a caravan constructed specially and fully equipped to operate in remote areas. Included in the special equipment is a gas-operated refrigerator, which will enable blood to be stored at i the correct temperature, and will ensure that it reaches the, I hospital in perfect condition. 1 1
