Supreme Court Civil Suits Settled

Of a list of 13 civil actions set down for trial by jury in the Supreme Court this week, all but one have been settled out of court.

The action not settled —a claim by Athol Stanley McKegg for £4OOO damages against the Attorney-General —has been adjourned, and will not be heard before September 5. The third session of the Supreme Court for this year will begin on July 26, when indictments on criminal charges—including a charge of murder—will be tried by jury. Civil cases tried by jury will be heard in the fortnight from September 5, with a third week allowed for if the number of cases warrants it.
