Burglary At Rakaia

Several radios and a television set valued about £4OO were stolen from the premises of R. H. Whiting Ltd., radio electricians, of Rakaia, between 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 9 a.m. yesterday. During the same period the premises of Pyne, Gould, Guinness Ltd., Rakaia, were entered through louvres at the rear of the building, but nothing was stolen. An attempt was also made to force the front door of Cromie’s Garage, Rakaia, but this was unsuccessful. A car taken from Ashburton on July 12 was recovered in Rakaia yesterday morning. A green 1955-model Standard Vanguard, registered number AJ7283, was taken from Rakaia some time between 8 p.m. on Tuesday and 9 a.m. yesterday. It has not yet been recovered.
