“BREUGHEL” SOLD
(Specisl Crspat. N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, July 10. A painting, at one time thought to be the work of the Flemish artist, Pieter Breughel, and belonging to the G. W. Sweet family, of FeHding. has been sold at Sotheby’s in London, for £4OOO.
The painting was found in London to be the work of Joos de Momper. a contemporary of Breughel's son, Jan.
Meat Retailer*’ Officer*.— The following officers were elected at the annual meeting of the Canterbury Meat Retailers’ Association: President, Mr H. P. Doherty; immediate past president, Mr B. M. Owens: vice-presidents, Messrs P. Wallis and C. A. Percy; executive, Messrs E. R. Blanchard, F. E. Coleby, W. D. Cross, F. A. Dyer, J. R. Gleeson, D. McNeil, J. T. MeMullan, T. R. Owens, F. Pierson, and B. R. Shackel. Mr K. T. Sugden was appointed secretary.
