ILLNESS ON RAIL-CAR
The rail-car from the West Coast last night made an emergency stop at Darfield so that two passengers who had become ill could receive medical attention. The rail-car arrived at Christchurch soon after 11.30 p.m., more than 30 minutes late. Soon after the rail-car left Springfield, the guard was notified that two persons on board had become ill. He stopped the rail-car at Darfield, where they were treated by Dr. J. W. Avery. The rail-car made a further unscheduled stop at Addington where it was met by an ambulance. The two passengers, both young girls, were taken to the Christchurch Hospital. One was discharged soon after treatment and the other was expected to be discharged after observation.
