RESEARCH ON CANCER
Lottery Funds For Institute Sought (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 8. The Government will be asked by the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers to allocate the whole of the proceeds of a mammoth lottery for the immediate establishment of a cancer research institute in Wellington. Delegates to the division’s annual conference were told that land had already been bought for such an institute opposite Wellington Hospital. An earlier resolution urged that the Government fully consider spending more of the profits of the Golden Kiwi lottery on the care of the aged, especially to provide additional housing.
