COOK STRAIT SERVICE

Two-Ship Run Inaugurated GV.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 27. The two-ship service between Wellington and Picton was inaugurated today. The Aranui left Wellington at 10 a.m. and, after berthing at Picton at her usual time of 1.20 p.m. she left again at 2.20 p.m. for Wellington. Later this afternoon she left again for Picton, arriving there at 10 p.m. for the overnight stay. The Aramoana, which was returning to the run from her annual survey, left Wellington at 2 p.m. and arrived at Picton at 5.40 p.m. She sailed again an hour later.

A major timetable change will be tfie cancellation of the week night 11 p.m. sailing from Picton and the Introduction of a Sunday return sailing from Wellington.
