Destruction In N. Vietnam (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) SAIGON, June 28. United States Navy pilots attacked a large underground fue* dump in North Vietnam, sending a gigantic orange fireball and thick black smoke 3000 ft into the air, the “New York Times” news service reported. A United States military spokesman said in Saigon yesterday that the target, 35 miles north-east of the coastal city of Vinh, appeared to be one of the largest petroleum storage areas yet hit by American bombers.

Cultural Exchanges.—The Soviet Union and China today signed a protocol on cultural exchanges for 1966. A brief official announcement gave no details of the exchange programme. The two countries exchanged friendship society delegations last year under their cultural agreement.— Moscow, June 28.
