Obituary

MR R. H. NEILL Mr Robert Henry Neill, who was commercial printing manager of the “Star-Sun” for many years, died in Christchurch on Saturday. Educated at Christchurch West High School, Mr Neill joined the printing department of the “Lyttelton Times” in 1890. He was associted with the firm for 52 years, and was appointed commercial printing manager in 1938. In his early life Mr Neill was a keen sportsman, and played football, hockey and cricket, as well as racing as a track cyclist. He was also a foundation member of the Canterbury Miniature Rifle Association, and was a former president of the Christchurch Bowling Centre. Mr Neill is survived by his wife, a daughter, and two sons.
