ELECTIONS IN KENYA
Party Opposes Kenyatta (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) NAIROBI, June 26. Voters in Kenya’s remote north-east will go to the polls today to end a series of byelections in which an Opposition party led by Mr Oginga Odinga, a former vicepresident, challenges the ruling Kenya African National Union, of President Jomo Kenyatta. Thirty seats are at stake In this “little general election" —staggered over several weeks—which results from a walk-out from the ruling party, by Mr Odinga and his supporters. They formed the Kenya People’s Union. Votes for ail 30 constituencies are expected to be counted tomorrow.
